The Seigneurial Room, old volumes and an inward presence
The Seigneurial Room unfolds as a generous space shaped by old beams and the presence of wood. The eye is not drawn towards a distant view: it remains within, held by the depth of the place.
Volumes, materials and light compose a dense interior, shaped over time, at the heart of the château-monastery of La Corroirie.
A room shaped by volume
The old beams structure the room and give it a particular sense of stability. The volumes are generous, settled, almost silent, as though the place had found its balance over time.
The room holds its own depth, in a quiet and continuous presence.
Here, the eye does not wander away: it rests on the walls, the materials and what has remained.
Inhabiting an old interior
The antique furniture does not simply decorate the room: it extends the presence of the walls, accompanies the materials and contributes to this sense of depth.
The room belongs to the five rooms of the château-monastery of La Corroirie, each offering a different way of inhabiting an ancient place that is still lived in today.
Staying here means inhabiting a more inward-facing space, in a different relationship from the Pastoral Room, which opens towards the landscape and the light.
Practical details of the Seigneurial Room

- Linen: cotton jersey sheets, duvet, two large bath towels, two towels and a bath mat

Other ways of inhabiting La Corroirie
The Seigneurial Room belongs to a set of five rooms, each shaped by a different relationship with the place.
Here, everything draws the attention inward: the beams, the volumes, the thickness of the walls. Light enters more discreetly through the old openings, helping the room remain cooler and more stable even in the height of summer. In the same wing, the Monacal Room continues this simpler, more restrained relationship with the place.
On the other side of the staircase, beyond the great sitting room, the relationship changes: the Cardinal Room opens more towards the church and garden, in a more direct relationship with the outside.
