The Château-monastère de la Corroirie remains an inhabited ensemble, crossed by history, stone, water and landscape. When several people gather here, the place does not change its nature: it simply receives a collective way of staying.

Gathering close friends, working together, celebrating a moment or simply spending time together – these situations take place here without being imposed. The buildings, the passages and the outdoor spaces offer possibilities, but nothing forces a single form. The place receives, without directing.

The church, the old rooms, the edges of the moat, the park and the woods form an ensemble where each person may find their place. Some moments are lived together, others move aside, in quieter and more withdrawn spaces.

This way of inhabiting the place may accompany a wedding, a family gathering, a time of work or simply a few shared days. But nothing is assigned to a single form.

Staying on site, with the five rooms, extends this presence over time, while the surrounding territory – between villages, landscapes and châteaux of Touraine – opens other paths.

Inhabiting La Corroirie together also means accepting that each space offers a different relationship with the place.

In the former hostelry, the five rooms allow the stay to continue over time. They are not alike: some open onto the moat and the landscape, others remain more inward, more reserved. Each proposes a particular way of inhabiting the place.

The shared spaces are not organised like standardised rooms. They are discovered in the continuity of the buildings: old rooms, passages, approaches to the church, views over the water and the park. Nothing is fixed; everything depends on the way the group settles into the place.

Outside, the estate extends between meadows, woods, pond and moat. These spaces allow moments to open, distances to appear, or simply time to circulate differently between people.

Some choose to gather in one place, while others prefer to distribute the presences. La Corroirie allows these variations, without imposing a single form.

Each project is built from the place, not from a fixed format.

La Corroirie welcomes groups of different sizes, depending on how the spaces are used. Accommodation on site allows up to ten people to stay in the five rooms.

For larger gatherings, the estate can open differently. The outdoor spaces – park, meadows, pond and woods – make it possible to welcome more numerous presences, while keeping distance and breathing space between the different areas.

Complementary solutions may be considered in connection with the surrounding territory: nearby accommodation, light installations or more temporary forms. Everything is built case by case, according to the number of people and the nature of the project.

The organisation does not rely on a single model. It becomes clearer through exchange, in order to find the most fitting way to inhabit the place together, without breaking its balance.
