The Pastoral Room, overlooking the moat and evening light

The Pastoral Room is one of the five guest rooms in the former hostelry of La Corroirie. At approximately 35 m², it looks directly onto the moat, the park and the landscape surrounding the château-monastery.

Three large openings bring light into the room. One faces south and two face west, giving the late afternoon and evening light a particular presence.

A freestanding bathtub stands facing the windows. From both the room and the bathtub, the moat, trees and sky remain in view.

The large 180 × 200 cm king-size bed, the proportions of the room and its openness towards the outside make the Pastoral Room one of the rooms most directly connected with the landscape of La Corroirie.

The Pastoral Room looks towards the moat, the trees and the open spaces surrounding the château-monastery. The view is an integral part of the room.

Throughout the day, the three windows bring generous light into the room. In the late afternoon and evening, the two west-facing openings follow the lowering sun above the water and park.

This arrangement particularly suits guests who like to remain connected with the outside when they return to their room. The moat, trees and sky remain present from both the bed and the bathtub.

The bed measures 180 × 200 cm. It consists of two individual bed bases and two joined mattresses which cannot be separated. This provides greater sleeping independence within the same king-size bed.

In the Pastoral Room, the bathing area is integrated into the bedroom rather than placed in an enclosed bathroom. The freestanding bathtub faces the windows and the moat.

The shower is also open to the room and has a large showerhead. The toilet is fully enclosed and private.

This arrangement clearly distinguishes the Pastoral Room from the Cardinal Room , where the private bathroom is a separate enclosed room opening directly from the bedroom.

Three large pillows are provided. The bed linen is cotton jersey, with a duvet. Two large bath sheets, two towels and a bath mat are also provided.

Handmade soaps from Azay-le-Rideau and slippers are available. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling are free in the room, and a fan is provided.

The Pastoral Room can become the same point of return for several days. In the morning, its windows open onto the moat and park. In the evening, the west-facing openings once again catch the light that particularly characterises this room.

From La Corroirie in Touraine, Montrésor is only 4.5 km away, while Loches can be reached in around twelve minutes.

Another day can be spent at Château de Chenonceau or ZooParc de Beauval , before returning to La Corroirie in the evening.

Staying several nights makes it possible to explore this part of the Loire Valley from the same place, without changing accommodation from one visit to the next.

The Monial Room is smaller and also looks towards the moat and horizon, while the Monacal Room is more inward-looking and secluded.

The Pastoral Room is distinguished above all by its three large openings, its freestanding bathtub overlooking the moat and the late afternoon light entering through its west-facing windows.
